Alberta Provincial Court Claims Limit To Be $50,000
Alberta Justice will double the limit for small claims civil actions to be brought through Provincial Court to $50,000 as of August 1st, 2014. This date is only 2 weeks away from today.
This is a huge breakthrough for the half dozen or so non-lawyer court agents currently operating out of the Calgary Judicial Centre. Under the Provincial Court Act, a litigant may have either an agent or a lawyer represent them in Provincial Court.
