Nordic Soy Diet Tablets Returns
Rainbow Investigations has been receiving a number of emails in the past two weeks about another old diet scam, which at one time was originating out of the Montreal area.
Nordic Soy Diet Tablets has been promoted around the U.S. in the last few weeks by direct mailouts. The mailouts are similiar to Nordic Soy Diet promotions of the past which use a model nurse, known as "Mary Hudson", and is under the trade name "Stockholm Capital Laboratories". As in the past, the promotions use an order taking place ironically with the same phone number as in the past, namely 1-800-616-8226.
Nordic Soy Diet Tablets has been around since 2005, and was related to other fraudulent diet products, most notably SupraSvelt Drops in 2005-2006. About the only difference that we see today is that the previous promotions used to go to a mailbox in Traverse City, and then on to a fulfillement center in Grawn, Michigan. Now the promotions seem to have bypassed the mailbox, and are going directly to the Grawn, Michigan fulfillment place.
In the past, the promotions were clearly originating out of Montreal, Canada. While we don't have any information at this point to indicate conclusively that the same people are involved, obviously someone has passed how to do the scam if the same people are not involved.
In any event, this promotion is clearly a fraud, and there is no evidence whatsoever in the scientific world that a diet of soy beans has any effect on weight loss.
In general, diet fraud promotions in North America, which at one time from 1996 to about 2005 had Montreal as a big player, have been greatly reduced in recent years. However, every now and then, this evil form of fraud does return.
